Optus customers affected have been notified by Optus of the
specific information compromised and the necessary remediation
activities required.
Re-issuing a new driver licence number may take several weeks.
If you wish to sign up for Equifax Protect but you have not
yet received your replacement driver licence and card number
(for applicable states), you can still complete the
registration process using alternative forms of
identification, e.g. Passport and Medicare.
Once your Equifax Protect subscription is activated, we
recommend entering your current driver licence details into
the portal to activate your identity monitoring. This will
alert you if your information is discovered on the dark web.
When your new driver licence is issued, you should update
those document details in your Equifax Protect portal to
ensure your identity monitoring is up to date.
