Introducing Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) at Equifax

In today’s digital world, protecting your personal and financial information has never been more critical. At Equifax, we are committed to providing you with the highest level of security. To strengthen this commitment, we’re announcing the roll out of Multi-factor Authentication — a powerful security feature designed to help increase the security of your account.

Multi-factor Authentication

What is Multi-factor Authentication

Multi-Factor Authentication is a security process that requires more than one method to verify your identity when logging into your account. This will work by combining something you know (your password) with something you have (a unique code sent to your mobile device or email). This layered approach helps ensure that even if your password is compromised, your account stays protected.

Why is Multi-Factor Authentication Important?

Stronger Defence Against Cyber Threats

Passwords can be stolen, guessed, or cracked, leaving your account vulnerable. Multi-factor Authentication acts as an extra barrier that prevents unauthorised access, even if someone knows your password.

Peace of Mind

With increasing risks of phishing, hacking and identity theft, having Multi-factor Authentication in place provides you with added assurance that your sensitive information—like your credit report and financial data—stays out of the wrong hands.

Benefits of enabling Multi-factor Authentication
